How wide is a wide belt?

Our wide belts for women run from 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm). Sofie and Sylvie are 2 inches (5 cm), studded with grommets and made in 10 colors each. Julia is 2.4 inches (6 cm), and Liv is 2.8 inches (7 cm) with double buckles.

Want it bolder? Prya and Lori are 3.2 inches (8 cm), and Lori comes in leopard or zebra print. Rena is the widest here at 4 inches (10 cm). For narrower styles, browse all our women's leather belts.

How do you wear a wide waist belt over a dress or coat?

Buckle it over your top layer, at your waist. Frans, in camel or grey with an antique silver buckle, cinches a coat, a blazer or a dress. Rena pairs with dresses and jumpsuits, and Sylvie with oversized tunics, maxi skirts and slouchy dresses.

For a softer look, Vita is a leather tie belt you wrap and knot at your waist or hips, over a dress, a shirt or knitwear. Liv works with pants too, with a tunic tucked in.

How do I size a waist belt?

Measure around your body where the belt will sit, then match that number to the length column in our belt size guide. Wearing it over a coat or a chunky knit? Measure over it. Between 2 sizes, take the larger one.

Sizes start at XS (75 cm) and go up 5 cm at a time, but not every wide belt comes in every size. Liv, Prya, Rena and Lori stop at L/XL (100 cm), Julia, Sofie and Sylvie at XL (105 cm), and Frans goes up to XXL (110 cm). Vita comes in one size, since you tie it.

How long does a made-to-order belt take?

We make each one for you after you order, and it ships 3 to 4 weeks from your order date. More styles made this way are in our made-to-order belts. Adding an in-stock belt to the same order costs nothing extra; it just ships separately.

Can I return a made-to-order belt?

Yes. You have 30 days from the day your order ships, and your first exchange is free. Prefer a refund? Send it back unworn, with its tags and original packaging; if you use our return label, $5 comes off the refund. It's all in our returns and exchanges policy.

Do you have wide black belts?

Yes, from 2 to 4 inches. Sofie and Sylvie (2 inches, 5 cm), Julia (2.4 inches, 6 cm), Liv (2.8 inches, 7 cm), Prya (3.2 inches, 8 cm) and Rena (4 inches, 10 cm) all come in black.

What leather are your wide belts made of?

Each product page names the leather. The 6 black belts above are full-grain, vegetable-tanned Italian leather, Leather Working Group certified. Frans, Lori and Vita are full-grain leather. Every belt named here is handmade in the Netherlands.

Can I wear a wide belt with jeans?

Yes, as a waist belt over a tucked-in top or a sweater. Sofie (2 inches, 5 cm) may fit some larger jean loops, so check yours first. For a belt to wear through your loops, shop our women's leather belts for jeans.
